Sora is our trusty office manager who has “retired” from being physician’s assistant for 10 years to join Oakdale Family Dental full time. Her three sons keep her busy with all of their sports and activities. In her spare time, she loves to read books, travel, and play Candy Crush. Sora is also our Rodan & Fields consultant who can help your skin get healthy and glowing.

Dr. Chris Shim
founder and owner
Dr. Shim graduated from the University of Georgia in 1997 with a degree in microbiology and continued his education to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Medical College of Georgia in 2002. After working as an associate for a few years in the Atlanta area, he opened Oakdale Family Dental in 2006. Alongside working at his thriving office, Dr. Shim has also been an active member of the Georgia Dental Association, Hinman Dental Society, Pierre Fauchard Academy, and American Dental Association to name a few. He has spearheaded the annual Give Kids A Smile Program and has been recognized as an Honorable Fellow for his community service. In his spare time, Dr. Shim loves jiu jitsu, mountain biking, listening to music and spending time with his family.
Chris is a general dentist / solo practitioner in family and cosmetic dentistry in Smyrna since 2006. He received his undergraduate degree from University of Georgia in 1997 and his DMD from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 2002. He has been an active member of the ADA, GDA, Hinman, GMOM and heads up GKAS. Chris is also a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and is a member of the Northwestern District Dental Society and Metro Study Club.
